Hooks
Yes I am that fed up with not being able to get out and fish!! I though I would share which hooks and sizes I was doing well with last year and some new ones I will be trying
First up............................ CRAB HOOKS
I think these are great and super strong , The ones in the picture are size #2 and #4 so there is not a huge jump in the sizes I did very well on the size #4 for dabs and small plaice last year
next up .......................ABERDEEN MATCH
I think these new hooks will go down very well .All my best plaice were on these hooks last year. The two in the picture above are size 2/0 and #4 haven't used the #4 yet only just got them but think they will be great if the bigger ones are anything to go by .the size #1 is a good all-rounder and although they are a lightwire they are still strong and there is a slight offset of which I am sure increased my hook ups My favourites!
........................................STINGERS AKA CHINU
Looking forward to seeing what I can catch on the smaller ones . I have used some of the middle sizes ' #4 ' of which I had a cod 'not the intended target ' of nearly 4lbs!! it was hooked firmly through it's lip as these are extremely sharp and strong hooks the picture above is size #1 and #14
So plenty of rigs to make up and hopefully the weather is about to improve so I can put up some catch reports soon !!
